*Focaco Alert: the Coronavirus Vaccine (Sars-CoV-2) will not be more effective than the treatment!
The Severity rate of Covid 19 is less than 1% in Cameroon while the cure rate is 95%.
The Cameroonian Consumer Foundation (FOCACO ) estimates that the Covid 19 vaccine will be less effective than the treatment already available. Indeed, the treatment against Covid 19 is less expensive for the State of Cameroon than the two doses of Pfizer or BioNTech vaccines to be administered to the population.
It is possible that Covid 19 could become a disease with a seasonal upsurge like influenza, which could justify obtaining long-term immunity.
And what if the vaccine does not protect for more than a year or if the virus acquires mutations that make it unrecognizable to a person who has already been vaccinated?  In this case, it will be necessary to be vaccinated regularly with a new vaccine adapted to the new variants that may be circulating. It will be a never-ending cycle.
The Focaco asks the population to continue to observe the barrier measures enacted by the Government and WHO, particularly hand washing, wearing a mask and social distancing.
Let's be careful.
